About RX

A Toronto-based consultancy built for organizations that operate everywhere.

Who We Are

RX Management Consulting Inc. is an Ontario corporation providing management, strategy, operational excellence, and back-office consulting services to organizations of varying size and sector. We work with leadership teams that need clear-eyed strategic direction and the operational discipline to carry it through.

Our delivery model is fully remote-capable by design. A Toronto home base gives clients a stable point of accountability, while our consultants work directly with distributed teams, field operations, and international affiliates, without the overhead of a traditional multi-office footprint.

We favor structured, evidence-based methods over generic advice. Every engagement is scoped around measurable outcomes: cost efficiency, schedule reliability, and risk that has been quantified rather than assumed.

We are a private consulting firm, not a public accounting or licensed engineering practice. Where a mandate touches accounting, legal, or stamped/sealed engineering deliverables, we work alongside the client's licensed professionals, not in place of them.

What Clients Retain Us For

  • Cost discipline: structured value analysis that targets true cost drivers without cutting required scope.
  • Schedule reliability: network-based scheduling that surfaces float and dependency risk early.
  • Quantified risk: probabilistic modeling in place of single-point estimates and guesswork.
  • Operational continuity: back-office and financial management that scales with growth.
Confidentiality & Security

Your data stays yours.

Engagements often involve proprietary cost models, corporate structures, and pre-decision strategic information. Every mandate operates under a signed non-disclosure agreement, with access limited to the consultants directly assigned to your engagement and data handled through encrypted channels.

  • Mutual NDA executed before substantive discussion
  • Encrypted document handling and storage
  • Engagement-scoped access, not firm-wide

"RX Management Consulting brought a level of scheduling and cost discipline our internal team didn't have the bandwidth to build in-house."

Services

Five service lines, engaged independently or combined.

Every mandate is scoped to the client's actual problem. Some engagements need a single service line; others need several run in parallel under one point of accountability.

01

Corporate Strategy

Strategic planning, market positioning, and governance advisory for leadership teams navigating growth, restructuring, or cross-border expansion. We work directly with executive teams and boards to pressure-test direction before capital is committed.

02

Operational Excellence & Project Controls

Earned value frameworks and structured performance reporting that surface baseline deviations in cost, schedule, or scope before they compound into overruns. We build the control system, then hand off a reporting cadence your team can sustain without us.

03

Value Engineering & Schedule Optimization

Structured value analysis (VE Job Plan) paired with critical-path scheduling to compress delivery timelines and reduce cost without reducing scope or quality. This is the service line most directly tied to our CPM/EVM/Monte Carlo methodology. See Our Approach for the full process.

04

Internal Financial Management

Back-office administration, cash-flow forecasting, and compliance-ready financial reporting built for organizations with distributed or multi-entity operations. This is bookkeeping and financial operations support, not audited financial statements, tax filings, or public accounting services.

05

Digital Transformation Support

Migrating fragmented, spreadsheet-based reporting into unified dashboards and workflows, so field, back-office, and executive stakeholders work from the same real-time data instead of reconciling conflicting versions.

Our Approach

A structured, quantitative methodology.

We rely on established planning and analysis frameworks rather than informal judgment calls. Engagements typically draw on some or all of the following, sequenced to the client's needs.

Engagement Lifecycle

How a typical mandate runs

1

Diagnose

Review existing baselines, reporting, and controls to identify where cost, schedule, or risk exposure is hidden.

2

Model

Build the CPM network, EVM baseline, and/or Monte Carlo simulation specific to the engagement's scope.

3

Recommend

Translate the model's output into a specific, prioritized set of decisions, not a slide of generic options.

4

Hand off

Leave the client with a reporting cadence and tooling their own team can run without ongoing dependency on us.

The Four Frameworks

What "quantitative" actually means here

PHASE 01

VE Job Plan

A structured value engineering job plan (information, function analysis, creative, evaluation, development, and presentation) used to separate cost that buys required function from cost that doesn't. The goal is removing the latter without touching the former.

PHASE 02

Critical Path Method

Network-logic scheduling that maps task dependencies and calculates float mathematically, rather than relying on a planner's intuition. This is what tells you which delays are absorbable and which ones move the finish date.

PHASE 03

Earned Value Management

Integrating cost, schedule, and scope into a single baseline produces objective performance indices (CPI, SPI) instead of subjective status reports. It answers a specific question: given what's actually been accomplished, are we ahead or behind, and by how much.

PHASE 04

Monte Carlo Analysis

Running the schedule and cost model through thousands of randomized iterations produces a probability distribution of outcomes, not a single deterministic date or number, so contingency can be sized against actual risk rather than a rule-of-thumb percentage.
